Expense tracking dies at the step where you retype receipts. Photograph the receipt instead, send it to @image_to_text_free_bot, and the reply is the receipt as text: merchant, date, one line per item with its amount, and the total. Paste the lines into a spreadsheet or your accounting tool and you are done — no dedicated expense app, no account, no monthly plan.
The bot handles thermal-paper receipts, printed invoices, and photos of both taken with a phone. Numbers, decimal separators and currency symbols are read carefully; the row structure is kept, so amounts stay on the same line as their item. Faded or crumpled receipts still read if the digits are visible to the eye; flattening the paper and shooting in even light makes the biggest difference.
Receipts are processed on the fly and are not stored on our servers — only the text stays in your chat, where you can search it later by merchant name or date. Five receipts a month are free; a 100-image package (100 ⭐, about $2) covers a typical month of business travel or a shoebox of paper.

Frequently asked questions
Can it export a receipt to Excel or Google Sheets?
The bot returns plain text with one line per item. Copy the reply and paste it into a spreadsheet — each line becomes a row, and amounts are easy to split into their own column.
Does it recognize numbers accurately?
Yes, including decimals and currency symbols. As with any OCR, glance at the total once — a smudge on the paper can turn a 3 into an 8.
Can I send several receipts in one photo?
You can, but one receipt per photo gives cleaner results and a clear one-receipt-per-message archive.
Are my receipts kept anywhere?
No. The image is processed and discarded; the text lives only in your Telegram chat, which you control.
